T- 8's LED
Tubes:
The Pure White T-8 LED Tube
produces a wonderful brightened contrast, printed materials appear
sharpened, colors brighter and viewing is easier on the eyes than with
conventional fluorescent tubes. The T-8
Fluorescent lamp is the most widely used light source in North America,
for commercial use. Nearly every large building that you enter has arrays of T-8 fixtures,
their ceiling spaces are largely occupied with these.
The average
standard T-8 fluorescent tube lasts about 10,000 hours and being mounted
so high in the air it is no small chore, nor minor expense, to replace
them when they fail. LED T-8's Tubes pay for themselves several times in actual bulb
replacement (no more ballast replacement) and labor savings during their lifetimes, the energy savings
is substantial, the improved quality of light and the workplace are
bonuses.
The SMD LED will operate 100,000
hours before dropping below 75% of initial production, Fluorescent tubes loose
20% of productivity after the initial burn-in period. SMD LED's now
provide a 120 degree angle of light dispersion, a recent breakthrough, which
means they are less focused and spreads the light similarly to an incandescent
bulb. While well dispersed the light is directional, unlike conventional
360 degree fluorescent tube lighting, which adds 46% more useable Lumens.
Bi-passing your Ballast and
Starter will save even more energy, 40-50 Watts per fixture or wore with
older style ballasts, and improve
the workplace without the buzzing and flickering associated with
standard fluorescent tubes. A big bonus, more ballast to replace,
going forward!
Savings: An example of one
adaptation, A recently purchased fixture to fit a 36 inch tube and fixture.
The energy savings from the ballast alone (a new electronic state-of-the-art
energy efficient electronic ballast) is between 40-50 Watts. A 36 inch
Fluorescent Tubes uses between 32-40 Watts, a very good replacement LED Tube
uses just 18Watts. At the lowest numbers, 40 and 32 Watts, the the
total energy use of a 36 inch fluorescent tube is 72 Watts. To repeat
he LED Tube uses 18 Watts total, saving a total of up to 54 Watt hours per
Tube, or 75%. Comparing Tube to Tube the energy savings is 45% for the
tubes alone, so clearly by adding a switch to enable turning off 50% of the
available lighting, these LED Tubes qualify your commercial building for a
Federal Tax Deductions of a $.60 per Square foot.
NOTE: Alter Your Light Fixture Prior to T-8 LED Lights being
installed, it's easy, I can have done it myself.
